Research Interest

My primary research interest is in the development of efficient and accurate algorithms for Computational Fluid Dynamics and its application towards multi-physics problems, for example Fluid/Structure Interaction.

About me

My home town is Deagu in the south-eastern province of Korea. I received B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Yeungnam University, Korea and M.S. also in Mechanical Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Korea. I had worked as a research engineer at the research headquarter of Samsung SDI until I left Korea for my doctoral study in Aerospace Engineering at UT-Austin.

The Rotary and me

I am an Ambassadorial Scholar of the Rotary Foundation, Rotary International.
I am an ambassador of goodwill between the Rotary clubs in Daegu, Korea and Rotary clubs in Austin, Texas, USA.
My host Rotarians are Dave (Oak-Haill Rotary Club) and Charles (Austin Downtown Rotary club).

Updates

• My advisors and principal committee members are Prof. Kallinderis, Prof. Dawson and Prof. Carey.
• I graduated from UT-Austin with Ph.D. in aerospace engineering in May 2005.
• I am working with Prof. Carey as a research associate at the CFD Lab, ICES in the academic year of 2005-2006.
• I am teaching "ASE 211: Engineering Compuation" in the fall semester of 2005.
• May 2006, I am moving to Theoretical Division, Los Alamos National Laboratory. My new web-page will be located here.
• Spring 2008, I am returning to Korea for joining the School of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at the University of Ulsan, Ulsan, Korea as an assistant professor. My new webpage will be here.
