Preliminary Numerical Results

Representative timings for a basic CG solve on several computers are given below. The model problem solved is on the unit square, discretized with five-point central differences, with uniform mesh size and Dirichlet boundary data. The unpreconditioned conjugate gradient method is used. Single precision real arithmetic is employed. It should be emphasized that these figures are preliminary and do not reflect all code optimizations which are currently under development for the package.
